Long Dick does not dangle around when it comes to dealing with bureaucracy.

After many a tussle Long Dick seems to have achieved his goal of a nice crappy looking site nearer to the George St and Mile One action of St.Johns.
No link but  VOCM reported yesterday that Long Dick will have a new location on Gower Street.

Not sure why I am telling you this, perhaps because I like sausages or perhaps as a public service for tourists.

For me any visit to St. Johns would include fish n chips and a pint of Guinness before a Long Dick.

Hi Brian: NTV actually gave a reasonable amount of coverage to Long Dick's. The guy who runs this truck is getting a lot of mileage out of nothing more than a clever name. How good could any sausage really be? Question: I have been reading your blog for years. I have a fascination about all things in Newfoundland and Labrador and you are the best source about news in Nain and surrounds by far! Are you an amateur radio operator and what can you hear on a radio up in Nain? Do you hear amazingly distant stuff on AM and SW? Do you listen to Radio Australia? Thanks for a great blog! Thanks for the complement Karl,

I'm the only blogger of any consequence in north eastern Labrador that I know of so like it or lump it that's all there is.

No short wave or DX ers here that I am aware of now, used to be. Carl Sonnichsen in Goose Bay used to live here, he is into short wave.

Some years back a couple of DX ers in a cabin up in northern Sweden picked up CKOK who have a Tx in Goose Bay

I don't listen to short wave any more, I do get short broadcasts of different world programs on CBC overnight. We have a good selection of TV and radio through satellite (subscriptions) but the through the air is limited to CBC national and CBC north and the free to air TV is no longer, shut everything down couple months ago.

I've sampled the delights of Ziggy Peelgood on numerous occasions, but haven't met up with Long Dick yet, however OlderSon, The Eqestrienne and my grandson Callum are in St Johns right now so perhaps they'll give him a try.

Ah yes, the Duke of Duckworth, been there too... but for fish'n'chips I usually go to Ches's.
