back to reality. Picture right is what surfing was all about for me, loved doing those left and right handers, tumbling under just at the right time to re-surface at the back of the wave, well most times. Many a headache was had from when it did not work. Pic from PD.
Enough of the nostalgia, given the -40c wind chills this morning the scene would be more like this one from Antarctica. Pic sent by a friend.
Not looking good for the early part of the week sure.

Hi Brian: I heard that windchill in Nain today is -47C and all the schools are closed. Does that mean you have to stay at home too? It must be pretty challenging to keep warm in those drastically chilly temperatures! Some snow this morning here in S Ontario, making the usual morning rush hour a bit slippy-slidey. Thank goodness I don't have to join them on the highway.
Personally I don’t have a place of work to go to, my wife does. It is 14 c in her office. The TV department went home, wife being the boss stayed on with the radio crew, they have on air commitments.
The building they are in is an old wooden structure, it was retrofitted once, can’t imagine what it would be like before. Staff does not take their outdoor cloths off on days like today; they are a hardy committed lot, committed in the positive sense.
Only the school is officially closed to my knowledge, no kids out sliding for sure today. I took grandson and the dog for a walk earlier, as usual kids are not dressed as we oldies would like, the wind and cold did slow Matthew down on the way home, into west winds with gusts almost blowing us over.
