Right up to the 11th hour we were not going to be immunized with the H1N1 thingo.

No reason I can pin down, for myself all the hype and hoopla seems a little suspicious, especially all this hand cleanser and other protective products being pushed by the media coverage. Plus I never did ‘follow the big crowd thing’ very well.

For Fran it was more technical. Fran followed the whole media blitz both pro and con for the vaccine.
Right up to 0 – 2 hours it was NO.

Then the wobbling started, I could sense the uncertainty, I did not help by saying “I will go with whatever you decide”.

In the end I said “OK, lets go and do it”.

At the vaccination site [town hall] things were all orderly, lot’s of people to take your information, give you the warnings, direct you to one of ten ‘nursing stations’ in the room where a nice friendly nurse quickly injected you then off to an area where a guy recorded your name and time of entry.

Everybody was in a good mood, kids playing, folks joking around, I feigned passing out.
.
Fifteen minutes later it was out the door, no fuss, no bother, no big lines waiting for hours, no queue jumping, no me first and to hell with the kids and older people bullshit.

Seems the rest of the province could use some of the organizational skill sets that seem evident up this way.

Meantime back at Northern: Some fresh new products are starting to appear on the shelves and in the freezers.
Noted was a nice colorfull package of snow crab, contents weighed in at 680 grams, price $22.99.
Now just two months ago we could by snow crab at the fish plant [produced in Makkovik] for $6.50 a lb.
So for 680 grams you would pay about $9.75. Mind you there was no colorfull package.
The interesting things is all these expensive sea food items seem to sell very well.

On your next trip down under you find the urgent need to throw a prawn on the Barbie just go here.

Need to find the nearest government service, just click here.

Find the need to report a damaged public facility? We could use something like It’s buggered mate, imagine the hits Labrador Coastal Marine would get.

Update:
I have a third confirmation on the lose of that container of the Astron, the one with the crab and turbot [45,000 lb in total] this one very close to the source.
Okalakatiget Society is doing a story on it, not sure when it will be finished ready for air.

Uperdate: Here ya go, the first media report of the fish lost at sea.
