we just did not tell you the truth.
Further to the unexpected arrival of the mv Sir Robert Bond into Nain Monday we have this report borrowed from CKOK news briefs:

The Sir Robert Bond
Remember we told you yesterday, that the Astron was on her way to Cartwright to load for ports to Nain?
And we said this would be her last trip up the north coast for this year?
Well, obviously, that has changed.
The Sir. Robert Bond arrived in Nain yesterday at around 4 o'clock in the afternoon.
Some people knew about the Bond coming to Nain, but it was a complete surprise to others.
Dennis White is with the Woodward's Group of Companies in Goose Bay.
We asked him what was with all the secrecy surrounding the Bond's trip to Nain and why they didn't notify the public.
He said they weren't trying to be secrative.
They only decided to send the Bond up the north coast on Saturday evening.
He says they weren't publizing this because they weren't sure if the Bond would be able to dock in Nain due to weather conditions.
They didn't want to have to send the Bond back without docking in Nain and have to move the freight on to the Astron to send up.
So, all the freight is now moved from Cartwright to Nain and the Astron doesn't have to come back anymore this year.
Wouldn't it be great to have a freight boat like the Sir Robert Bond serve the north coast regularly?
Like I keep insisting, some people treat folks up here like they came down in the last snow fall.

Keeping with the maritime theme, I was curious to see a full photo of the Cape Blanc that sank off the south coast of Newfoundland.

The Sir Robert Bond is Huge! Far bigger than I expected.
Yeah, too big for most of the wharfs on the Labrador coast I would think.
The rumour mill this past year ,is they wanted to try trip all summer. It seems they are looking at her for the north coast.
