Big ol billboard on a storage shed near the post office and the small school [K to 3].
Be nice to see one [or more] stating that drug dealing is illegal too.
Further to this story Vale/Inco has just announced that the ovoid mine in Voisey’s Bay will be shut down for the month of July 09. Nickel is at less than 5 bucks a pound compared to 22 back in July 07.
Further further, the paper mill in Grand Falls Windsor will permanently close next year, workers are getting a 16 weeks lay off notice.
Wonder when the Williams Governments 'happy happy all is going great in the province' party is scheduled.

Bootlegging may be a crime but it is a natural response to 8 dollar drinks.
$4.00 a 2 Oz shot x a 40 ozer = $120.00. Most drink doubles = the same 120 bucks. Not sure of the profit margin for the bar owner, he has overhead, free mix yadda yadda.
Not sure what the going rate at the Bootleggers is but there overhead is low. I think the big worry for most with bootlegging is the really young getting hold of it, who pays for it, is another worrying issue.
Same with drugs, there is an argument to be made that weed is no more harmful than alcohol, and it is way safer than cigarettes.
What types of drugs are available on the Labrador coast is not known to me being a non user.
Same argument with the younger folk, they are getting it, without proper parental control experimenting with stuff could quite easily lead to the more addictive drugs.
