Rhubarb behaving badly, or not?

This rhubarb from Okak, the abandoned Village, was in a pot for a couple of years doing not much of anything. I transplanted it out in this spot last year.
About 5 weeks ago it was hardly visible above the ground now it is going gang busters, but I am not sure if it supposed to be going gang busters in this fashion. Any way it looks great.

I love rhubarb! Especially rhubarb pie. Or stewed rhubarb. My mum used to make a mixture of rhubarb and custard called rhubarb foule. And rhubarb and strawberry jam... mmm!
I think you're supposed to cut the flower stem off to get the rhubarb to produce more.

Guess I will try your recommendation, thanks for the input ExSham.

Yes, on stem or leaf crops you get more production by "suckering" the bloom stems. But heck, that looks pretty by itself. I often grow tobacco for the pretty plants alone. Funny though, even tobacco plants can look very different. So far my big growing disappointments are the "Silver Queen" corn, which all fell over; and the Zucchini, which is clumpy and wild, and nothing like our neighbors. Her's is all tall, straight and majestic. Mine looks inflicted! lol
