Sorry, I miss spoke,

status quo has not been revisited, not by a long shot.

7..20 this morning I was making a cup of tea, had some bread in the toaster, next thing the lights went out and the toaster popped up, frightened the bejasus out of me.

I then became really angry.

I am still angry but focused, I have since found out that all the town did not receive power yesterday. It came on in dribs and drabs, some did not get it at all, some got it on this morning then lost it again.
We had ours back at 9.20, parts of the town that had power earlier are now without, total chaos reigns.

No fault of the guys on the ground, this whole issue goes back to the years that Hydro cut back on staff, realigned staff, dumbed down on the equipment that went into the new plant 9 years ago.
It is all coming back to haunt Hydro, not to mention the 1300 residents of Nain, penny wise pound foolish I think the saying goes.

i sure do hope those troubles are straightened out for your community.
this seems so ridiculous what with churchill falls power available and the lower river project on the table...Labrador resources that do no good for Labrador should not be developed,in my opinion.

so before enough power to light ONE old stagehead on newfoundland isle gets across the straights, every Labrador community that requires access to our hydro resource should be connect with more than sufficient supply.i mean enough to grow and develop our own communities without all the colonial BS from nfld.

do you feel the same way about the power going the other way to Quebec. Why do the people in the big land continue to send Liberail voices to Ottawa. Its like slapping yourself in the face.Thats who screwed you over in the first place. You dont make sence.

Anyway its disgusting that the people in that region of that province have to continue this hardship. Why do you continue to let Canada take your resouces. Why not just tell your provincal governement just to turn the power off if your not recieving your fair share. From this URL youve been compensated very well for that power.Im sorry i dont understand.

To anon of 11.09 am That URL you referenced covers only the INNU of Labrador, plus the agreement is only in principal, there are many steps to go before it is signed, plus the dam has to be built before any monies are exchanged or other benefits are realized, there are many more steps before that happens.

As to why Labradorian can’t form a united voice to tackle issues facing them, lack of trust between groups and regions is one reason, lack of a true democracy, complacency is another, and these are just some of the reasons.
