Break to clear head.

CBC has done a good job covering this nice story.
http://www.cbc.ca/canada/newfoundland-labrador/story/2006/10/17/moravian-bible.html

Plus some stories on different issues are trickling out of Rigolet by Paul Piggott; perhaps he will work his way north.

Some one did note that there was no coverage of substance, to date, by CBC of the NG swearing in and first sitting of same. Can’t expect too much I guess.

brian,CBC pays for footage and an event such as that( Nunatsiavut Government swearing in) captured on video and submitted might hook you a few $$$ if you have the time.

Good advice there table mountains. I do not have the equipment or the inclination to get into video.

FYI, Okalakatiget Society was covering the events with video and radio people. It is possible for CBC to use some clips from either source, there just has to be the will/interest.
If there was a rabid wolf terrorizing the community a videographer would be sent in post-hast from the Island if none was available in Labrador, true story.

Further to yesterdays post, my speculation/hopes that Paul Piggott would be doing further stories on the coast came thundering down. Seems Paul is in Iqaluit for a couple of month’s relief at CBC North. He can still keep his ear to the ground from there I suppose.

i know where your coming from brian. i have seen more negative stories out of labrador then positive ones.it's the way of the media. a few years back the only way my community made the local newspaper was in the police/court section or news that the community owed incinerator fee taxes to the major community here.i phoned in and gave them a lecture on the god things that happen here and next thing you know im freelancing for the paper.i only contribute positive stories....besides they happen more often.im sure your community is the same.

Thanks for the link on the Morovian Bible.

So do people still practice the morovian faith? Or is it still a faith? Sorry for my ignorance but the religious studies I had during my school years didn't cover Labradors Morovian past roots to my knowledge. I learnt more about the Prairies other canadian religions than my own province :(

You might want to enquire into the Gutenburg project it is like Wikipedia only for books. My guess is you would need to scan and submit the digital copy for all to see and read.

Good suggestion Wayne. The ywould probablt need one of those new digital video cameras for fast submission and editing.
Jus imagine the scenery and wild life shots brian or someone interested in such a project could take and the possibilities for promotion of our province as well as historical capture of elders stories like they have on the Inuit site. Not sure if it was the Inuit site.

I'll bet even some european channels would pick up exerpts from that swearing in ceremony especially if it was in traditional dress. Europeans are totally fascinated with native cultures and people. I guess because they don't have any really. If were not carefull we won't either in time.

Thanks for the updates Brian.
