Because the experience gained there can be used in the future to develop in your area. Especially since your rates are even more cost effective for wind generation development assuming the wind is there.
http://freenewfoundlandlabrador.blogspot.com/2006/01/big-announcement-today-in-labrador.html

http://www.labradorcoastal.com/index.html
http://www.labradorventus.ca/

Apparently there is a project for the Island somewhere as well.NL-ExPatriatehttps://www.blogger.com/profile/15938647714308913350noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-20438373.post-1137520175484300812006-01-17T13:49:00.000-04:002006-01-17T13:49:00.000-04:00I’m a bit short on detail at moment, but CBC radio...I’m a bit short on detail at moment, but CBC radio announced this morning that a company had put in an application to build a wind farm at Churchill Falls. Seems strange and ironic until it is explained that it is a 1 1/2 billion dollar project, and the company wants to sell it’s product outside the province. Now that is not strange and ironic. Story went on to say the company does not need government money or loan guarantees, something fishy there, or are the winds of change going to start from Labrador.
Lots of hoops to jump through yet though. Now if only we can any someone to take an interest in areas where WE NEED the alternative energy projects.Brianhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/17616269412884770034noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-20438373.post-1137435788423430082006-01-16T14:23:00.000-04:002006-01-16T14:23:00.000-04:00Here's my list of energy sites mostly wind but a f...Here's my list of energy sites mostly wind but a few studies etc.

I tried to find that call for proposals by the Provincial government but was unable to find it? They are asking for proposals so now would be a good time to lobby some wind generation companies to put forth a proposal on your behalf.

http://www.soshayle.fsnet.co.uk/news/news116.htm
http://www.google.ca/search?q=weather+dependability+newfoundland&hl=en&lr=&cr=countryCA&safe=off&start=40&sa=N
http://www.me.dal.ca/~dp_02_1/design.htm
http://archives.cbc.ca/IDC-1-75-1750-11997/science_technology/hydro/clip8
http://archives.cbc.ca/IDC-1-75-1750-11992/science_technology/hydro/clip5
http://archives.cbc.ca/IDC-1-75-1750-11994/science_technology/hydro/clip6
http://archives.cbc.ca/IDC-1-75-1750-11990/science_technology/hydro/clip4
http://archives.cbc.ca/IDC-1-75-1750-11996/science_technology/hydro/clip7
http://archives.cbc.ca/IDC-1-75-1750-12000/science_technology/hydro/clip9
http://archives.cbc.ca/IDC-1-75-1750-11985/science_technology/hydro/clip1
http://archives.cbc.ca/IDC-1-75-1750-11986/science_technology/hydro/clip2
http://archives.cbc.ca/IDC-1-75-1750-11987/science_technology/hydro/clip3
http://archives.cbc.ca/IDC-1-75-1750-12003/science_technology/hydro/clip10
http://www.nooutage.com/airx.htm
http://ieee.ca/millennium/kitimat/kitimat_history.html
http://www.nlh.nl.ca/hydroweb/hydroweb.nsf/default?openform
http://www.livescience.com/technology/051021_nano_light.html
http://nanotechwire.com/news.asp?nid=2394
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Electric_power_transmission
http://www.braincourse.com/wirelessa.html
http://www.turby.nl/downloads/Turby%20ENG.pdf
http://www.scottbader.com/pub.nsf/Content/UK_Comp_Wind
http://gogov.com/windmills.htm
http://wiki.greenpowered.org/index.php?title=Darrieus_Wind_Turbine
http://www.mrnf.gouv.qc.ca/english/energy/sources/sources-wind.jsp
http://www.eurowind-uk.net/
http://www.me.dal.ca/~dp_01_10/Prototype_Testing.htm
http://www.turby.nl/downloads/Turby%20ENG.pdf
http://www.me.dal.ca/~dp_02_1/design.htm
http://www.oceanpowertechnologies.com/energy/
http://shop.altenergystore.com/items.asp?Cc=HYDROPOW
http://www.combinedcouncils.ca/mwm_files/home/other/Lower%20Churchill%20Position%20Paper%20revised%20Nov%202005.pdf
http://www.electricityforum.com/news/aug04/onengrid.htmlNL-ExPatriatehttps://www.blogger.com/profile/15938647714308913350noreply@blogger.com
